the perfect worship set ...
every worship leader dreams about the perfect worship set ...
you know, the one that makes everyone laugh and cry and fall on the ground and raise their hands ... and the songs all flow together ... and the sound guy has tears in his eyes ... and the drum fills are angelic ... and you're singing words that aren't even on the screen ... the perfect worship set ...
of course, it's all about the perfect worship songs ... so, I've decided to dedicate this blog to the perfect worship set ... 5 songs, that's it ... and maybe one song for ministry time at the end of the service (while everyone stands around wondering IF the service has actually ended or IF they should keep standing around until the pastor jumps back on the microphone and says 'you can be dismissed' or 'awesome') ...
so, whether you're a worship leader or you own a Delirious album or you play acoustic or you can't sing or your last name is Yoder, please WEIGH IN with the perfect worship set ... don't be shy ...
the perfect worship set ...
Show your Power (everyone clapping & Aaron Wardle singing back up)
In the Light (strobe light, fog machine & my brother Jeremy on electric)
Where you go I go (Scott Davis on drums upside down wearing yellow tank top)
I could sing of your love forever (with Russ York & teenage boys choir)
Send Your Rain (grand piano & Jon Klein on harmonica)
Wash Over me (with live marching band during final chorus)
top that ...

hmm... funny how you have your own song in the "perfect worship set" i think that says a lot about yourself :) hehe...
{Heres mine}
5: "did you feel..." (because everyone feels that one)
4: "God of wonders" The glorious unseen just released a version of this song... its making a comeback)
3: "Come thou fount" (the perfect set always has a hymn)
2: "Burn in me" (this might be the reason we haven't had the "prefect" set at the stirring...hmm)
1: "How He Loves" (this is "the better is one day" of our generation)
Ministry time: Facedown (perfect)
-My Soul Sings- Delirious
-Jesus Paid It All
-Blessed Be
-Sanctified- tagged with the bridge and chorus of Send Your Rain.
-How He Loves
and in case God wants to move through worship and skip the sermon.
-All Creatures
-Freedom- Jason Upton
-How Great Is Our God
Oh one more..
Investigate-with Glo In The Dark (Pt 2)
Shine Jesus Shine x 5
it would be epic!!!
all i know is you guys need to add Running, (by christ for the nations) in there somewhere... in fact... it should be done at the stirring... hint hint
Dude. Where were you when I was down there? i called and texted. no response.
Tag, your it
In my opinion (which you should never ask for, by the way), The Stirring Rotational Worship Band needs put the acoustic guitars away for a night. Seriously, the night when Jake broke his guitar string, and there was no back-up guitar lying around, so he had to pick up an electric and play a few songs with it was probably my favorite night in worship at The Stirring (second perhaps to the first night Jenna sang). His vocals, with the all-electric band behind him, sounded awesome to me. They weren't playing especially hard - it just sounded better. I almost spoke out in protest when they gave him back the acoustic! Therefore, my perfect "worship" set would be all rock. Gotta get the power out there in order for me to feel it...
So, after a quick flipping through of my music collection, I humbly submit these:
1. Hurt - Thousand Foot Krutch
(Help Me help you/they won't be there/Help Me help you/they won't see/And it hurts/when you need Me/and I can't break your fall/It hurts/when you can't see/And it hurt- A powerful rock ballad told from God's perspective - easily TFK's best song.)
2.Love Hate (On and On) - Disciple
(What are we.../When will we.../Why are we still wondering?/Oh Jesus, I can't take the hate anymore/Save us from ourselves before/we go on and on and on around and again)
3.Fight for Love - Disciple
(Who will stand/to fight injustice?/We live/We fight/We live/We die/We fight for love)
4. Awake - Seventh Day Slumber
(Finally awake/I feel alive today/I feel everything/It's all so clear to me)
5. Frontline - Pillar
(Everbody, I want your fists raised high/Let me hear your battle cry tonight/stand aside or step aside/from the frontline.)
And for the ministry time:
6. Creeping Death - Metallica
(Because Biblical Metallica is awesome.
So let it be written/so let it be done/I'm sent here by the chosen one/so let it be written/so let it be done/to kill the first born Pharaoh son/I'm creeping death)
I've actually listened to all six songs in order before posting here - it works. I am so charged up right now, it's unbelievable...
I don't know what the perfect set would be but this song would be in there for sure.

Check it out - and if you ever want to go to one of the most butt kickin' missions conferences EVER you can find a link on their site. it's called World Mandate. (Ask Pastor Mike and Nan about it...)
By the way, I'd probably throw in how he loves, revelation song, everything, and how deep the fathers love for us.
It's great to see you at the Yaks!

My Perfect Worship Set:
1. Paranoid Android - Radiohead
2. Fljótavík - Sigur Ros
