heaven is hip hop ...
so, let's get some talk about the heaven series ... gardens and walls and stones and rivers and fruit ... any thoughts? ... any questions? ...
when Jesus teaches us to pray for the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in Heaven, what is He talking about? ...
what does it look like when Heaven comes down? ...
will there be steak in Heaven? ... is Jesus a vegetarian? ...
why are angels guarding the city of Heaven? ...
does God look more like Morgan Freeman or Gandalf? ...
will Heaven look more like the Emerald City or Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory? ...
will there be sex in Heaven? ... will we all be naked? ...
will Jesus ever let me ride His white horse? ...
are you living Heaven now? ...

Couldn't Jesus look like Jim Caviezel?
For my carnal desires, I've always envisioned heaven as a place with seedless watermelons, endless americanos and scones (and time with which to visit with every person ever), and sensually better than sex. The pinnacle of all senses.
And since God could have made the entire world in black and white, how do we know that we even see a fraction of the colors that exist?
And did you also know that sound, radiation, colors and TV signals colors are all part of the same spectrum? What does that mean we'll be able to see with our new bodies?
I like these discussions.
if heaven is hip hop, does that mean we'll all be able to break dance? we'll be on HBDC...Heaven's Best Dance Crew. . . dancing on the streets of gold
through the Eucharist, we as believers are brought into Christ's presence in Heaven as He sits are the right hand of the Father. Here is a great little passage by Calvin on that mystery that takes place.
"Let us lift our spirits and hearts on high where Jesus Christ is in the glory of his Father, whence we expect him at our redemption. Let us not he fascinated by these earthly and corruptible elements which we see with our eyes and touch with our hands, seeking him there as though he were enclosed in the bread and wine. Then only shall our souls be disposed to be nourished and vivified by his substance when they are lifted up above all earthly things, attaining even to heaven, and entering the Kingdom of God where he dwells. Therefore let us be content to have the bread and wine as signs and witnesses, seeking the truth spiritually where the Word of God promises that we shall find it."
-John Calvin (Sursum Corda)
Hmmm... Question? If Jesus said that there wouldn't be marriage in heaven, how can there be sex? Am I missing something?
Better than ... not the act itself. :)
This was one of my favorite teachings ever! Great job!
Josh, the posts marked "deleted" came into my email before they were taken off. But both of them say "this post has been removed by the author" and I think you were the author. Did I miss something?
